IN
SUPPORT
OF
MAPFEST-1 was held on 20th January 2024. We partnered with a charity that aligns with our mission at MAPFEST to provide support tackling homelessness, reducing poverty and assisting poor and disabled children.
An Hour for Others (AHFO) is a charitable organisation that supports people living below the poverty line, particularly children and young people in the community. All fundraising proceeds went towards the vital work they do in the community.
We also provided a platform to emerging artists to use their talents positively for the advancement of humanity and mankind along with a live event and media coverage to develop their confidence on stage, grow their fanbase and connect them with their supporters. The event was a huge success and we had many people from the community and across Merseyside in attendance.

2015
Musical Attack Against Poverty Festival (MAPFEST) is a music concert project under the LSFH umbrella that focuses on music activities in the community. It’s about using the Power of Music and Entertainment as a tool towards poverty reduction with a specific emphasis on tackling child poverty in the UK.
We collaborated with IMAGINE IF TRUST, AFROBEATS and LUMA CREATIONS, all Liverpool-based organisations. It was a VOLUNTARILY-POWERED PROJECT without any funding to raise funds in the community for SAVE THE CHILDREN UK, Love Congo and Little People In Need.
We held our first MAPFEST on the 5th July 2015 and without the emerging artists, sound-engineers and our partners who voluntarily gave their talents towards the development of Humanity and Mankind, by helping us put together these live musical performances, this event could not have been possible. A special thanks goes to Frontline Church Liverpool who kindly provided the venue for the event free of charge.
MAPFEST 2014/15 PARTNERS & BENEFICIARIES
2014
collaboration with LIVERPOOL TALKING NEWSPAPER FOR THE BLIND📻
LSFH volunteered in supporting and collaborating with Liverpool Talking Newspaper (LTN) for The Blind. Over 6 months several news recordings were made in the radio station studio, downloaded into pen drives in large quantities and regularly distributed to the Blind in our communities, so they could have access to both National and International news on a regular basis.
2013
WHEELCHAIR ADVOCACY ♿
LSFH advocated for an accessible wheelchair platform for wheelchair users that attended the Liverpool International Music Festival (LIMF) in August 2013. LIMF acted positively and a wheelchair platform was built to make the festival disability friendly. They have continued to use the platform annually anytime they host the event at their Sefton Park venue. During the annual festival we have continued to assist the LIMF disability team with supporting and assisting wheelchair users to gain access to the wheelchair platform.
2009/2010
DADAFEST: Singing and Signing choir
a collaboration with…
Sense of Sound LIVERPOOL
We have networked & collaborated with DaDaFest and Sense of Sound Liverpool in the past. It was organised by DaDa (Disability And Deaf Arts), with Ruth Guild as the then Director, and we helped in creating a singing and signing choir in Liverpool to give the heard to hear/disabled the opportunity and platform to achieve their potential in Singing and Entertainment.
LSFH alongside Susan Hedges (Singer/Songwriter/Keyboardist) were among the judges that selected the talent for the choir. The choir performed at DaDa’s Christmas party on 1st December 2009, happening to be the first choir to perform at the new Hilton Hotel on Thomas Steers Way in Liverpool City Centre.
2008-2009
COLLABORATION WITH ‘THE BIGGER PICTURE’ PROJECT
From 2008 to 2009 we took part in a project developed & designed to support youth in the communities of Liverpool to help them advance in acquiring various skills. This included giving young people life saving skills, such as First Aid and CPR, and also giving hope to young offenders on probation through employability workshops.
This was done in conjunction with the Liverpool Anglican Cathedral under the then DEAN OF ANGLICAN CATHEDRAL LIVERPOOL (now the ARCHBISHOP OF CANTERBURY) JUSTIN WELBY. The project was directed by Reverend Dr. Shannon Ledbetter who had previously led the Liverpool Habitat For Humanity project.
